A high-grade
protective boat primer designed especially for application to iron
or steel where easy sanding is a must. It sands easily to a
glass-like smoothness in preparation for high quality marine
lacquers such as TS 2032 Aero-Lac Marine finish. Also excellent for
use as a sandable marine primer for TS-1 Revolution Topside Coating,
TS 100 1 Part Epoxy or TS-4 Urethane Reinforced Alkyd topside
coatings. This product is lacquer therefore a lacquer finish coat
may be applied over it without the worry of lifting or bubbling.
Intended for use as a sandable marine primer coat for properly
prepared surfaces. A premium-grade, high solid marine primer that
not only acts as an effective rust preventative on steel and iron
substrates but should be viewed as an integral component of any
corrosion resistant coating system. Use on almost any interior or
exterior structural steel and under most any marine coating or boat
paint system. Excellent for all surfaces on tailored boats or above
the waterline applications on larger vessels. Spray application is
recommended for best results. Color: White or Grey. Finish is low
sheen.
Stats: Dries to
the touch in 30 minutes, tack free in 1 hour, recoatable in 1 hour,
dries hard in 2 hours. Apply by brush, roller or spray. Available in
gallon or five gallon containers. Coverage is approximately 275-300
square feet per gallon @ 2 mils dry film thickness. All surfaces
must be thoroughly dry before the application of any boat primers,
topside coatings, bottom paints, spar varnish or brightwork varnish.
Recommended
preparation: For best results remove old marine coating, loose
scale, grease, oil and contaminates. Sand, grind, bead blast or
power-wash prior to the application of any cleaner.
Application:
Spray application is recommended for best results. Marine primers
should be allowed to dry a minimum of one hour before recoating with
subsequent primers or boat paints. It should be applied to a dry
film thickness between 0.3-0.4 mil. For non-marine equipment or on
iron or steel surfaces it should be applied to 0.6-0.8 mil dry film.
NOTE: This marine primer is designed for spray application over
surface-treated metal or pretreatment coatings (See TS 117
Pre-Treatment Wash Primer). If used for dip or flow-coat
application, the product suitability should be determined by the
user.
Thin & clean up:
Use only with factory recommended thinner. Thin if necessary with TS
610 Lacquer Thinner. Tools and equipment may be cleaned with TS 610
Lacquer Thinner or TS 615 Wash Thinner. |
