Etching Primer
is unique because of its versatility and because of the unbreakable
chemical bond it creates. It allows you to prime then paint
virtually any surface associated with swimming pools or ponds. Very
well like because of its effectiveness, ease of use, sandability and
protective qualities over a wide variety of substrates. A
hi-performance Phenolic Modified Alkyd Primer specially formulated
for use with hard to prime surfaces such as gunnite, glazed tile,
aluminum, fiberglass and plastic. Acceptable for use almost anywhere
and most any application!
Etching Primer
creates an unequaled etching bond to whatever it is applied to
without mixing multiple components. It will not lift to lacquers, is
fast drying and high solid content. It is a corrosion resistant
primer that inhibits rust penetrates cracks and withstands
saltwater. It protects corners and edges and resists exposure to the
damaging effects of weather.
Intended for use
as a primer coat for properly prepared surfaces. Use on any interior
or exterior surface. Excellent for use in both fish pond and
swimming pool applications. Available in quart, gallon or five
gallon cans. Color: White or Red Oxide. Finish is low sheen.
Stats:
Coverage is approximately 300 square feet per gallon, depending on
the texture and porosity of the surface. Dries to the touch in 30
minutes. Recoat in 2-4 hours. Apply by brush, roller or spray.
Recommended preparation:
For best results follow application instructions sheet. Remove old
swimming pool paints, loose scale, grease, oil and contaminates.
Sand, grind, bead blast or power-wash prior to the application of
any cleaner or primer. Steel: Where rust is evident TS-5679 Phos-Pro
Rust Converting Cleaner. Etch Concrete, gunnite, tile and aluminum
with TS-695 Etching Cleaner. For added slip resistance in traffic
areas add Gaco-Grip, Tred-Tex or aluminum oxide to the primer coat
for a non skid surface.
Thin &
clean up:
Use only with factory recommended thinner, TS-605 Thinner. Clean all
equipment thoroughly with TS-605 Thinner. Clean up with TS-605
Thinner or TS-610 Lacquer Thinner.
