versatility, sandability and protective qualities over a wide
variety of substrates. A hi-performance Phenolic Modified Alkyd
Primer specially formulated for use with hard to prime surfaces such
as aluminum and fiberglass. Also acceptable for use with metal or
wood surfaces. Basically, you can use it almost anywhere and most
any application! TS 664 Etching Primer is a lacquer proof, fast
drying, high solid rust stopping primer that inhibits rust, is
resistant to salt spray and penetrates cracks around light rust. It
protects corners and edges and resists exposure to the damaging
effects of weather. Use on any interior or exterior
surfaces. A premium-grade, high solid sandable primer that not
only acts as an effective rust preventative on steel and iron
substrates but should be viewed as an integral component of any rust
preventative coating system. Lacquer finish coats such as
nitrocellulose lacquer may be applied directly over it without the
worry of lifting or wrinkling. Available in quart, gallon or five
gallon cans. Color: White or Red Oxide. Finish is low sheen.
Stats: Dries to the touch in 30 minutes, tack free in 1 hour,
recoatable in 2 hours, dries hard in 4 hours. Apply by brush, roller
or spray. Coverage is approximately 300 square feet per gallon,
depending on the texture and porosity of the surface. Dries to the
touch in 30 minutes. Recoat in 8 hours. Apply by brush, roller or
spray.
Recommended preparation: For best results remove old rimer, paint, loose scale, grease, oil and contaminates.
Sand, grind, blast or power-wash prior to the application of any
cleaner. All surfaces must be thoroughly dry before the application
of any primer or coating
systems. Recommend the use of TS-117
Wash Primer in all aluminum paint applications.
