One of our best selling basecoat primers because of its protective qualities over a wide variety of substrates. A high quality two-component multi-purpose fast-drying epoxy polyamide automotive primer formulated to provide outstanding adhesion, extra durability and resistance to strong chemicals, spilled fuel, acids, alkalis, solvents, salt spray and corrosion over most high performance automotive coating systems. It has the highest ranking possible for adhesion and durability over a variety of substrates. Specially formulated to out perform one-part basecoat primer. Use in heavy-duty, high abuse, applications or in harsh environments. A premium-grade, high solid rust stopping basecoat primer that not only acts as an effective rust preventative on steel but should be viewed as an integral component of any rust preventative automotive coating system. Also recommended for use on ferrous metals, prepared steel, aluminum and wood.

Stats: Dries to the touch in 30 minutes, tack free in 1 hour, recoatable in 4 hours, dries hard in 8 hours. Apply by brush, roller or spray. Coverage is approximately 250-300 square feet per gallon @ 2 mils dry film thickness. Suitable for use on all interior and exterior surfaces. Apply by brush, roller or airless sprayer. Dry to the touch in 30 minutes. Pot life 24 hours @ 70F. Available in one gallon and two gallon kits.

Recommended preparation: For best results remove old car paint, loose scale, grease, oil and contaminates. Sand, grind, blast or power-wash prior to the application of any cleaner or automotive primer. Steel: TS-5679 Phos-Pro Rust Converting Cleaner, etch bare aluminum with TS-695 Etching Cleaner. All surfaces must be thoroughly dry before the application of any car or truck paint system.

Application: The basecoat primer should be allowed to dry a minimum of two to three hours before recoating with subsequent automotive primer or topcoats. It should be applied to a dry film thickness between 0.3-0.4 mil. For non-marine equipment or on iron or steel surfaces it should be applied to 0.6-0.8 mil dry film. NOTE: This basecoat primer is designed for application over surface-treated metal or pretreatment coatings (See TS-117 Pre-Treatment Wash Primer). If used for dip or flow-coat application, the product suitability should be determined by the user.

Paint solvent & clean up: Use only with factory recommended thinner. Thin if necessary with TS-620 Thinner. Tools and equipment may be cleaned with TS-620 Thinner or TS-610 Lacquer Thinner.
