TS-664 Etching Primer is a lacquer proof, fast drying, high solid rust stopping basecoat primer that inhibits rust, is resistant to salt spray and penetrates cracks around light rust. It protects corners and edges and resists exposure to the damaging effects of weather. Intended for use as a basecoat primer for properly prepared surfaces. Use on any interior or exterior surfaces. Excellent for use on all fiberglass and aluminum auto bodies and parts. A premium-grade, high solid sandable primer that not only acts as an effective rust preventative on steel and iron substrates but should be viewed as an integral component of any rust preventative automotive coating system. Lacquer finish coats such as nitrocellulose lacquer may be applied directly over it without the worry of lifting or wrinkling. Available in quart, gallon or five gallon cans. Color: White or Red Oxide. Finish is low sheen.

Stats: Dries to the touch in 30 minutes, tack free in 1 hour, recoatable in 2 hours, dries hard in 4 hours. Apply by brush, roller or spray. Coverage is approximately 300 square feet per gallon, depending on the texture and porosity of the surface. Dries to the touch in 30 minutes. Recoat in 8 hours. Apply by brush, roller or spray.

Recommended preparation: For best results remove old car paint, loose scale, grease, oil and contaminates. Sand, grind, blast or power-wash prior to the application of any cleaner or automotive primer. Steel: TS-5679 Phos-Pro Rust Converting Cleaner, etch bare aluminum with TS-695 Etching Cleaner. All surfaces must be thoroughly dry before the application of any car or truck paint system.

Paint solvent & clean up: TS-605 Thinner. Clean spills and tools immediately with TS-605 Thinner.
