There is no replacement for the protective qualities of zinc and TS-1757 Zinc-Plate Primer definitely has it. A rust-inhibiting Red Oxide zinc primer that is easy to spray and fast-setting. It is based on a zinc chromate-ferric oxide anti-corrosion coating system. This invaluable zinc primer binds rust to metal sealing out rust causing air and moisture. It is intended for use as a protective metal primer for new or rusted surfaces prior to the application of high performance aircraft coating systems. Designed primarily as a corrosion-inhibiting primer for use on manufactured goods, equipment, machinery, ferrous and nonferrous metal surfaces before top coating with urethane, lacquer or enamel industrial paints A premium-grade, high solid rust stopping primer that not only acts as an effective rust preventative on steel and iron substrates but should be viewed as an integral component of any protective coating system. It is zinc rich and contains a balanced composition of special pigments and phenolic modified resin providing good rust-inhibitive properties and blister resistance for better adhesion and metal protection. Recommended preparation: For best results remove old aircraft primer, aircraft paint, loose scale, grease, oil and contaminates. Sand, grind, blast or power-wash prior to the application of any cleaner. All surfaces must be thoroughly dry before the application of any aircraft primer or aircraft coating systems. Recommend the use of TS-117 Wash Primer in all aluminum aircraft paint applications. Steel: TS-5679 Phos-Pro Rust Converting Cleaner, etch fiberglass and aluminum with TS-695 Etching Cleaner.

Application: This product is at a spray viscosity designed for airless use: The primer should be allowed to dry a minimum of 2 hours before recoating with subsequent primers or topcoats. It should be applied to a dry film thickness between 0.3-0.4 mil. It is satisfactory for application in a wide range of temperatures or humidity conditions. NOTE: This aircraft primer is designed for spray application over surface-treated metal or pretreatment coatings (See TS-117 Pre-Treatment Wash Primer). If used for dip or flow-coat application, the product suitability should be determined by the user. Stir thoroughly before use. Brush, roller, or spray.

Thin & clean up: Use only with factory recommended thinner. It should not be thinned unless absolutely necessary. Thin if necessary with TS-605 Thinner. Tools and equipment may be cleaned with TS-605 Synthetic Thinner or TS-610 Lacquer Thinner.
